Business Blogging Workshop: Rickard Luckin Case Study
09 February 2022
Just before lockdowns became a ‘thing’, I designed and delivered an in-person, half-day business blogging workshop for Rickard Luckin, an Essex firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers.
Topics covered included regular idea-generation and how to structure a blog post, with everybody writing one post themselves as part of the session. And because I don’t enjoy staring at PowerPoint slides myself, I didn’t use any. Instead, thoughts and ideas were shared freely by everybody, as part of a relaxed, open discussion.
The workshop went so well that Kim Aaronricks, Rickard Luckin’s Creative and Digital Marketing Manager, kindly wrote the following case study.
The Context
Rickard Luckin is a firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers with over 170 experts specialising in a wide range of services, and offering in-depth advice to the many unique industry sectors.
We actively encourage our in-house experts to demonstrate their expertise by writing blog posts for Rickard Luckin, both for the benefit of our clients and potential clients, as well as for SEO purposes.
With such a large and busy team, it can be difficult to successfully maintain a regular blogging schedule. The expertise of our team members lays in the accountancy and tax profession, not in blogging, so finding the ideas and time to write is a recurring challenge.
The purpose of bringing Nina into the office to run the Business Blogging Workshop was to give our team the ideas, the time, and the confidence to make blogging a regular habit and to give them tools to increase our voice in the market place.
The Process
Nina delivered a very successful, discussion-focussed morning workshop, tailored to our needs.
With her warm, chatty and personable approach, this session not only helped the team to understand the blog writing process in an easy-to-follow way, but also offered helpful tips on how to generate ideas, find time to write, and increased the confidence needed to begin writing blog posts for the firm.
The Outcome
Seven participants attended the session and, by the end of the workshop, the marketing team were given seven complete blog posts for use on the firm’s website.
Feedback from the attendees has been 100% positive and, following the workshop, they have all continued to provide content to the marketing team for future blog posts, finding the task easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding than they had previously.
I will be booking Nina to run further Business Blogging workshops in the next few months as I believe Nina’s wealth of knowledge and experience, alongside her friendly and fun approach, is of huge value for our firm.
