Show review: Burlesque the Musical

Burlesque the Musical (as opposed to the film) is an extravaganza for the eyes and ears.  You won’t find anything for the soul – the story and script are terrible – but not everybody needs such things, do they?

In any case I had to cope with just the ears during Act One, as an impeccably dressed, 6’5″ gentleman took the seat in front of mine and blocked almost my entire view of the stage.  (There were lots of middle-aged men in the audience, I don’t know why!).  Act Two saw me in a different seat, albeit further back, just in case you were wondering.

(None of this drama is in the review itself, but that’s because I like to keep a little something back for my ‘proper’ audience!).
