Show review: The Snow Queen

It was a toss-up: I could have got The Snow Queen to review, or the ‘big’ Cinderella pantomime starring Rylan and Ross King.  I’m glad it was this one, because I love storytelling handled with genuine care.  Last year(ish), I reviewed a low-budget, all-female Cinderella, which I loved because the passion and attention to detail were amazing.

If you’re not working with a star budget, you have to come up with a fantastic script and absurdly creative ideas to compensate, and so it is with The Snow Queen.  It’s a magical show that turned back the hands of time, with some beautiful writing, singing, and acting on display.  If you live anywhere near the Palace Theatre in Southend, you should go.
