How to write a useful and entertaining review (teaser)

I’m not being coy; this is only a teaser because I’ve got Covid and stringing more than three words together in a coherent way is a brain-aching challenge.

But this week I had to write a review of a show I didn’t actually see (here it is), which made me think about how hard it can be to do reviews well.  The best ones combine detail with personality, in a way that makes them both useful and entertaining to read.

I’ll explain more when I’m feeling better.
